ANNABELLE

 ANNABELLE

You're wondering how a doll movie can scare me? Well, that means you haven't seen Anabelle. A movie about a doll that is taken over by an evil entity is always a good choice to watch, although there are nowadays more parts of this movie I decided to choose the first movie of 2014 directed by John Leonetti. Jhon finds the perfect gift for Mia, his pregnant wife, a vintage doll named Anabelle, who will not let them live in peace.

THE PLOT

John and Mia Form live in Santa Monica and are expecting their first child. John gives her a doll that she has been trying to find. Mia loves it and puts it with the rest of her doll collection. At night, Mia hears a murder occurring at their neighbors', the Higgins. When Mia returns home and calls the police as her husband told her to do, she is attacked by a woman holding the doll and a male accomplice. John and the police arrive and kill the man while the woman kills herself by slitting her own throat. She leaves a bloody symbol drawn on the wall and a drop of her blood falls on the face of the doll in her arms.

After so many accidents caused by the doll, the couple contacts the priest of their church, Father Perez, who tries to take the doll with him to church. Annabelle's ghost attacks him with the horned demon creature worshiped by the satanic cult, and then the doll disappears. Perez warns John that it was indeed Annabelle's spirit that caused his injuries, and that he felt how much the demon wanted Mia's soul. Then events caused by the doll continue to happen, the ending text states that the real Annabelle doll resides in a case in Ed and Lorraine Warren's museum and that it is blessed by a priest twice a month to keep the public safe from the evil that the doll possesses.

SCORE

It is a movie that has good actors like Ward Horton or Patrick Wilson that make the movie more good and interesting, but it is not one of my favorite movies, because in my case the movies that have to do with dolls or things like that do not call my attention, and although I have seen it more than twice it has not managed to surprise, what I would like to highlight is the plot that is very well developed and besides that the characters. My score is 7 out of 10.

WHY I RECOMMEND IT?

I wouldn't recommend it because I think it's not a movie that will generate what a real horror movie generates in you, but that's my point of view. In the world there are different points of view that are respectable, but I don't enjoy watching a movie like this, because when I watch a horror movie I want to be really scared.

Do you think a movie about a possessed doll would let you sleep?
