Evil doll movies are not scary. You may be thinking that when you saw the title of this movie but let me tell you that this is one of the best suspense and horror movies. This movie is inspired by a real event that occurred in Texas in 1745 where a woman killed her husband and created a puppet with his remains to always remember him. Legend says that he came to life, and murdered his wife. A woman who nobody could ever see again since that day she disappeared.

PLOT:

Dead Silence is a 2007 American horror film directed by James Wan. It is written by Leigh Whannell. This movie was released in the United States by Universal Pictures. The film was dedicated to Gregg Hoffman. After he receives a mysterious puppet in the mail, Jamie Ashen believes there is something strange about it. When he leaves his apartment to have dinner, his wife, Lisa, sets up the puppet to scare him. However, after everything around her is silenced, she is attacked by the puppet. As Jamie returns to the apartment, he hears Lisa calling him with a sweet voice, but soon discovers her dead with her tongue ripped out of her mouth.

 Though Detective Jim Lipton suspects Jamie of the murder, he is allowed to leave as there is no evidence against him. Jamie returns to his apartment and discovers the puppet, named Billy belonged to Mary Shaw. He investigates this woman and realizes that her husband's soul is trapped in the puppet and in order to break the curse he has to return to the place where it all began, where all her puppets are. After a confrontation with evil, the film ends with the curse being lifted.

This movie is pretty interesting. It seems to be the typical movie of a devilish doll but in reality, it goes much further than that. Besides being entertaining, it has mystery and terror. It has also a lot of history behind the original movie, like the story I told earlier about the woman who murdered her husband for cheating on her.  What I'm saying is that this film is perfect for a rainy afternoon! This movie receives a 10/10 rating from me. 

WHY I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU?

I recommend this movie to you because it is a movie that is not very well known. People do not see it because they think that having an evil doll as the protagonist is not going to be something that they are going to enjoy, but it has scenes and moments of suspense and terror very good.
