THE HILLS HAVE EYES

THE HILLS HAVE EYES

The Hills Have Eyes is a 2006 American horror film and a remake of Wes Craven's 1977 film of the same name. It was written by filmmaking partners Alexandre Aja and Grégory Levasseur of the French horror film High Tension, and directed by Aja. This is one of the most iconic horror movies of the 90s. Surely you have heard of cannibal mutant people who live in the forest waiting for new prey. Well, this is precisely what a whole series of films is about that has different versions and continuations. Today we will talk about the first one which is a movie called -The hills have eyes.

PLOT:

Bob Carter and his wife Ethel travel from Cleveland to San Diego through the New Mexico desert to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary. They are with their three children, Brenda, Bobby, and Lynn, Lynn's husband, Doug, and their baby girl, Katherine. They are also with their two pets. They stop at an old gas station where a nasty man suggests a different route through the hills, claiming them that they will save time.

Not long after, his tires are punctured by a hidden spike strip, causing the truck and trailer to get stuck in the middle of the desert. Bob goes to ask for help while the others decide to set up camp, but suddenly everything starts to get ugly. The family begins to be hunted and eaten by these terrible creatures while Doug tries to keep his baby and wife safe at all costs. Finally, the members of the family are murdered leaving as survivors the 2 children of Bob, Doug, and his baby Katherin.

SCORE:

This is one of the most controversial movies of its time since it shows very explicit bloody scenes, in addition to having good images for being old, it is a very good reason to see it. I give this movie 8 out of 10 because I would have liked that there were not so many survivors and also that the mutants had appeared more times.

Why would I recommend it?

Well, this is one of my favorite movies because besides to horror it has a lot of drama, and real scenes that make you feel really involved in the movie. Despite being a not so new movie, it has good quality and the actors are definitely good. I also think it's a good option to watch as a family since it doesn't have sex scenes or anything like that. You will not spend that awkward moment where a hot scene appears while you turn your head to the side hoping that it ends as soon as possible.

By the way! I would like to know if this has ever happened to you while you are watching a movie with your parents... Tell us, we would like to know.
