Devastated by the loss of their unborn baby, Kate and John decide to adopt a baby girl. At the orphanage, the two fall in love with a little girl named Esther, and soon the couple bring their new daughter home. But when a series of mysterious events unfold, Kate begins to suspect that something demonic lurks behind the child's angelic face.

THE PLOT 

The tragic loss of their unborn child has left Kate (Vera Farmiga) and John (Peter Sarsgaard) devastated, which is weighing on their marriage and Kate's fragile psyche, which is plagued by nightmares and haunted by the ghosts of her past. In an effort to regain some normalcy in their lives, the couple decides to adopt a child. At the local orphanage, both John and Kate find themselves strangely attracted to a girl named Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman).

However, as soon as Esther arrives home, a series of alarming events begin to unfold that lead Kate to believe that something is wrong with Esther, and that the angelic-looking girl is not what she seems. Concerned for her family's safety, Kate tries to get John and the others to see past the girl's sweet facade. But no one listens to her until it may be too late for everyone.

SCORE

It is one of the best movies I've seen, it is intense, has a good plot, excellent actors, but I must highlight the performance of Isabelle Fuhrman (Esther Coleman) I think this role was very well because she plays very well a girl and at the same time an adult. I don't have much more to say, I think it is a good movie that fulfills its purpose, to document a real life case and at the same time make an entertaining horror story for the audience. I give it a 10/10.

WOULD I RECOMMEND IT?

I absolutely recommend this movie, the plot is very good and its main actress makes the movie look much better, this kind of movies are the ones that make you love horror movies. On the other hand, every moment of the movie is exciting and doesn't let you get up to go to the bathroom because you would miss many important parts of the movie, and that kind of movie that traps you in its plot are the ones that are really worth watching.

Can you watch this movie without closing your eyes?
